Los Angeles Sign Co. | Traffic Directional and Entrance Exit Signs

TRAFFIC DIRECTIONAL SIGNS

Lead the way with Directional Traffic Signs! Prevent confusion by clearly marking Entrances and Exits to parking lots and facilities. Keep your traffic flowing effortlessly with a well marked lot.

A direction sign, more fully defined as a direction, position, or indication sign is any road sign used primarily to give information about the location of either the driver or possible destinations, and are considered a subset of the informative signs group. Direction signs are far more varied internationally than other classes of sign.

Traffic Sign Images

Direction signs are the oldest type of road sign. Traffic signs or road signs are signs erected at the side of roads to provide information to road users. With traffic volumes increasing over the last eight decades, many countries have adopted pictorial signs or otherwise simplified and standardized their signs to facilitate international travel where language differences would create barriers, and in general to help enhance traffic safety. Such pictorial signs use symbols (often silhouettes) in place of words and are usually based on international protocols. Such signs were first developed in Europe, and have been adopted by most countries to varying degrees.

The Sign Studio provides street and traffic signs to help keep your roads safe and traffic flowing at a good pace. Traffic signs are a good way to inform drivers of areas that are entrances or exits only, alert them to upcoming speed bumps or closed roads and many other traffic warnings. Made from durable and reflective material, The Sign Studio's traffic signs are the perfect solution to your traffic control needs.
Point people in the right direction with these long lasting and well made signs.

• One Way, Entrance and Delivery signs direct people and let them know where to go.

Los Angeles Sign Company | Installation Methods for Ground Signs

Posted by Julie and Chris Ramirez on Sun, May 19, 2013 @ 06:05 AM

GROUND MOUNT METHODS FOR INSTALLATION OF MONUMENTS, PYLON AND POLE SIGNS

The most common and effective ground mount methods of installation are:

Pouring a concrete pad is a safe way to prepare a site for signage. The concrete will be
hard and dry when you are ready to install and the stands can be made at your leisure.
To install simply bolt the plate at the bottom of the stand to the concrete base using
Hilti-type expanding fasteners.
Pros: Easy install, easily removable.
Cons: Sign is not theft proof.

If more permanence is required, dig a big hole, put the stand in the hole, and fill with
concrete.
Pros: Very durable.
Cons: Difficult to remove.

Some sites do not allow concrete for environmental reasons. This means digging a
bigger hole and filling with rocks before covering with earth.
Pros: Environmentally friendly.
Cons: Time-consuming, not as durable.

Always remember to check with your local Zoning and Planning Departments before installing any projects.

Effective Blade Signs..............
What are Blade Signs ?

Blade signs are often used when you're looking to attract pedestrians or drivers who don't see your storefront because they are traveling perpendicular to the front of your business. So while they may not be able to see your front sign, they will see your blade sign. Blade signs are often illuminated both on the front and back with 2 faces, however they also hang from a variety of different brackets with a cut-out design. Our custom-made blade signs and bracket solutions are eye catching and built/constructed to withstand all the elements. The Sign Studio uses top grade materials. There are so many variations in materials and colors, as well as mounting options. Single or double-sided, illuminated or non-illuminated, our blades are engineered to project your message and grab the attention of pedestrian and passerbys.

CUSTOM VINYL BANNERS & SIGNS
Custom vinyl banners and signs are the most happening low cost advertisement today. They tend to make the most valuable promotional tool. They are really useful for a variety of purposes, such as sales, auctions, promotions and games. Custom Vinyl banners are extremely effective, as they are considered 24/7. The best feature is that they are not as expensive as other forms of advertising. The positioning of the banner is very crucial also. The place where you decide to display your custom vinyl bannersign should give the best bang on the direct response of the viewer (which is a potential client).Vinyl sign banners are ideal for any occasion. If you need them to promote a product or lead people in your direction or make any announcement, custom vinyl banners will work for you.

There are many types of vinyl sign banners, including indoor and outdoor vinyl banners. The point is that all types of vinyl sign banners expose one main characteristic: they target potential customers. A banner has the concentration and growth potential for acquiring a wish or desire to get the advertised products and / or services out there to hundreds of people. Consequently, one of the main functions of custom vinyl banners is to be a magnet for people. In order for a sign, to be effective, you must consider all aspects of the business or product that the message will be sending. Consider all the details when you choose your banner - the size, tone, approach, lighting and location along with your message.

These banners are easy to install, durable, low cost, as well as effective and always manage to produce the intended visual effect you are looking for.

If you have any questions or need further information or simply want to order a custom vinyl banner, please send us an e-mail at info@signstudiola.com or give us a call at (818) 843-9200.

Los Angeles Sign Company | Sign Design and Sign Fonts

Posted by Julie and Chris Ramirez on Thu, Mar 21, 2013 @ 05:03 AM

WHAT FONT DO I WANT TO USE ON MY SIGN?

One problem that I don’t think has ever really been solved for a graphic designer or Sign Company is an easy way to find the right font for a job. How often have you known what you are looking for, maybe something fun, maybe a modern font, but the task of finding that right font is tedious. You end up spending so much time trying to find that perfect elusive font that it leaves you less time for the rest of the design. Sometimes with lack of time or budget you just reach for the trusty old favorite, when the right font could have really added “personality” to a design.

For ages I have meant to organize my fonts by style, but a new job always arrives and I put it on the back burner. Free font sites such as DaFont, in my opinion, make it far easier to search for a font by style category than some of the commercial ones and are great for headings and sometimes logos. I am always wary of using free fonts for body copy as the kerning is not always great and they do not always include a full set of characters.

Suitcase can be of help by typing in a word and viewing it in different styles, the only downside is the font has to have been loaded into suitcase to view it.The best solution I have found so far for seeing what fonts I have on my machine, without having to install them in something like suitcase is

Traffic Signs - What would we do without them?

One of the first signs young children learn about is the stop sign. Bold, red and noticeable, children quickly learn this octagon means "Stop!" proving the value traffic and stop signs play in our daily lives from the very earliest age. Signs play a vital role in how we go about business as drivers, passengers and pedestrians. Traffic signs help us navigate, stay safe and build community.

On Our Way
Going from point A to point B doesn't get done without traffic signs. Traffic signs tell us where we are and where we are going. Without them, we couldn't navigate city streets, highways or sidewalks.

Play it Safe
Left turn only? Lane ending? Watch out for pedestrians? Signs work to keep us safe as we drive or walk to our destinations. Traffic and stop signs alert everyone using roadways about what to expect and how to behave keeping us all safer as we travel to our destinations.

Working Together
Through traffic signs, we achieve a sense of community. We all play by the same set of rules created by traffic signs. Together, we keep each other safe and arrive to our destination on time.

Let The Sign Studio be your destination for traffic signs.
